This one's just a little tougher. Let's see...
1) It's probably just a fender bender. The majority of car accidents are minor with no injuries.
2) You're insured. Like most people, you have auto and probably health insurance as well. Even if you're hurt and don't have insurance, you won't be refused care.
3) If it was your fault, then you have a great opportunity to change your behavior. You were probably talking on the phone or fiddling with the radio... either way, consider this your wake-up call.
4) You'll get sympathy. All your friends will feel sorry for you, for today at least.
5) Rental Car! You'll get an almost-new car to abuse until your car is fixed. Go ahead- get the convertible!

The Desk You Are Sitting At
OK, I'll start with something simple- and neutral. I just picked this out of the air as an example. If you're not sitting at a desk, think about your work desk at your home or office. Chances are that, except when you bought it or if it's a expensive or fancy one, you've never given your desk much thought. What could possibly be great about it?
Well, I can think of several things right off:
1) It's very functional. Imagine what a pain it would be to write, or type, without it.
2) It requires virtually no maintenance or attention. Regardless of what kind of desk it is, once it was assembled and installed, you will likely never need to work on it again. It will last many years- or a lifetime.
3) It was quite inexpensive (probably). A hundred or more years ago, a desk would have been an expensive, major purchase. Now, you can get a good, solid one for a hundred bucks or even less used. I'll bet it even looks like it's made out of solid wood- even if it's not. Just think about all the work that went into making it.
4) It keeps the stuff you need right where you need it. Papers and pens inside, computers and phone up top, right at hand all the time, no thought required.
5) It looks good. Most likely, it's an attractive piece of furniture that complements your decor.
Feel any different about your desk? :)

The Great Thing About...
I believe that everything... yes, everything, no matter how bad it seems... has something great about it. I have never found an exception to this rule. Let me explain:
In my life, whenever I see or experience anything that would ordinarily be considered bad or negative, I try to immediately think about what's really great about it. This has become such an ingrained habit that it's virtually automatic. It immediately improves your attitude and keeps you feelin' good. I find it to be an amazing tool when bad things come along. But, it works for everything... absolutely anything- good, bad, or neutral.
I started this blog to share this with anyone who might find it useful. Basically, what I plan on doing is write down a series of "things"... which might be occurances, objects, ideas, or anything else- and point out what's great about them. I hope you will enjoy this blog. Thanks for reading!
